A traditional brick having a very unique molding process believed to have originated in England and is called the "Water Struck" process where in a very high moisture content clay is pressed into molds. Water is the lubricant used to release the wet clay from the molds. The resultant toweling of the wet clay by the mold box as the wet bricks slide out leaves behind a textural pattern after firing that has never quite been duplicated by any other brick making process. The yellow brick is extremely popular in the UK and is the mainstay of British architecture in the last century. The unique variations in this produce cast a spell of timeless beauty unmatched by any other building material.
